Hi, I am Jaza

2
I am a printmaking artist and user experience researcher based in Brooklyn. I also curate art shows :)

I am from India and moved to the US in 2011.

I have a background in industrial design, BFA from California College of the ArtsThe foundations of industrial design have greatly informed my art and UXR practices today.

In 2016, there was a big shift from industrial design to UX and I decided to hop on the bandwagon. I attended DePaul University and graduated with a Masters in Human Computer Interaction.

My first gig out of grad school was at Google. I conducted automotive research on Android For Cars and Google Maps, specifically focusing on accessibility (A11y) research, driver attention and safety. I led the A11y program to ensure ease-of-use for users who have visual, hearing and/or mobility impairments. I also developed research guidelines and success metrics for driver attention and eye movements which set the standard for future product usability testing.

Late 2021, post pandemic, I decided to move to NYC from the Bay Area. And with that I shifted industries.
I started working at Goldman Sachs in consumer banking research (Marcus). I improved the digital banking experience by identifying opportunities for financial inclusion and education, account opening, and multi-product journeys that increased CSAT by 25%. I also implemented a rapid research program for early stage ideas that provided real-time insights to inform business decisions.

I wanted to try something different at this point in my career. I joined a small 0-1 fintech called The Guarantors in 2023. Being the first research hire, I realized a large need for path-finding research.Through foundational research methods I was able to surface opportunities across on-boarding, fraud detection, and registration product flows that increased top-of-funnel conversion by 3%.

As part of a re-org, I got laid-off. The burn out was real so I decided to take a break and focus on creating art.

Needless to say, it was an amazing decision.

In Feb 2025, I founded Studio Q, a fine arts curatorial practice that focuses on bringing together BIPOC artists. Through Studio Q, I built programs for artists, buyers and collectors to create inclusive art experiences for art viewing and acquiring. IG: @studioqnyc

2026, I decided to get back to UXR. I started working at Meta focusing on personal productivity on wearables and AI devices. I am currently in the market and looking for research roles in art spaces.
